I got three runs in late one Sunday at Santa Pod. The first was the best at 15.16s. This was 0.5s better than I'd previously managed. I attributed 0.2s of the improvement to lower final drive ratio and 0.3 to weight loss. That's what the acceleration calculator suggested anyway. The other two runs I got carried away and had too much wheel spin. The times were something like 15.4 and 15.6s. Just shows how important a good start is.

I was well pleased with these results - I'd been hoping for a 15.3s. As a comparison, a standard Astra GTE 16v is quoted as 15.7s, whilst stripped out they tend to make 15.2s sort of area. A Golf VR6 is listed as 15.7s, whilst the current hottest hatches, the Clio 172 and Civic Type R both do the quarter mile in the 15.2s area. With an interior mind you! My acceleration calculator also said that the 0-60 should be possible in 6.9s. Being realistic, I'd say a true value of 7.3s was more likely. Still pretty quick off the mark though.
